EA-AOSD ’07: Early Aspects Workshop: Current Challenges and Future Directions

The Early Aspects community has been growing steadily since 2002, when the first edition of the workshop Early Aspects: Requirements Engineering and Architecture Design was organized during the First International Conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development, in March 2002. Since then, nine workshops have been organized in other well-known conferences such as OOPSLA, SPLC and ICSE. More than 300 people have attended workshops in the series.

For the 10th edition we are planning a special event bringing together the Early Aspects community during AOSD 2007 and will publish a set of high-quality papers in Springer’s prestigious Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. Our goal is to promote the cross-fertilization of ideas in requirements engineering, domain engineering, software architecture design and aspect-oriented software development in order to identify continuing problems and potential solutions using early aspect-based techniques.

We invite high-quality papers reporting research results and/or experience in any area of Early Aspects. Research papers should describe work that advances the current state of the art. Experience papers should be of broad interest and should describe insights gained from practical application of early aspect-based approaches and technologies.

Professor Anthony Finkelstein from University College London will be our invited speaker. The abstract of the talk will be announced soon.
