Kevin Gallagher’s opinion article on Internet security in Observador
Kevin Gallagher, a researcher from NOVA LINCS’s Computer Systems Group, discusses the largest security issue currently facing Internet users in an opinion article for the Observador newspaper. In the article he discussed how attackers have discovered a new method to exploit the Internet for malicious purposes: scamming users.
In his view, we need to adopt a more interdisciplinary approach to computer security. He believes it is essential to consider not only the technical mechanisms for securing computers but also the users themselves and how we can protect them from non-technical attacks.
