Knowledge LearnING from text collections

This project is a continuation of finished project FASTLING and aims at: 1) adapting to French the Portuguese parser, capable of fault fiding, fault correction and learning, 2) improving the DYALOG system (French)), 3) improving the Portuguese and French parsers by including knowledge automatically extracted, namely multi-words and semantic restrictions mined at the lexical level, 4) cooperating in the area of Multilanguage Access to multilanguage information, 5) creating the necessary synergies for submitting an European project, 6) creating a cooperation pole between the portuguese and French teams, specialized in Language Engineering, based on the development of tools, environments and systems for various applications in Human Language technologies.
