The Web has become an invaluable source information. However, it is not uncommon to find some specific information on the Web became suddenly unvailable. The Arquivo.pt preserves information published on the Web and enables searching and acessing the information that has been preserved since 1996. This session will present its system architecture and the functions that supports the Arquivo.pt and the methods that researchers can use to take advantage such research infrastructure.

| Host Bio | Daniel Gomes started and leads the Arquivo.pt service at FCT-FCCN. He is a research in the area of Web Information Systems since 2001. His main research interests are digital preservation, team management, usability, development and quality control of information systems. His Doctoral thesis addresed the impact that characteristics that the information published on the Web has over the design of large-scale information processing systems. |
