Cell Broadband Engine: A Heterogeneous Multi-Core Architecture — HW Overview and Programing Paradigms

In its first half the talk will give an overview of the CBE Architecture,
characterize the main components of this architecture and discuss the
rational for some of the HW design decision.

In the second part the consequences of this (and similar) architectures for
application programming will be discussed. After an introduction to low
level abstractions used by the Linux kernel running on CBE, emphasis will
be laid on strategies and programming paradigms needed to exploit this and
even more complex heterogeneous architectures for application development.
