Quantum cryptography and security

The goals, main results and advantages of quantum cryptology are
presented and discussed. The BB92 information-secure key exchange
protocol and Shor’s factoring algorithm are presented in detail.
Research directions and open problem are also briefly survey. We
conclude by presenting work done at the Security and Quantum
Information Group at Institute of Telecommunications in Portugal.
