The IntegraEPI project

The goal of the talk is to present the main research topics at the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie’s (UPM) computer department (Faculdade de Computação e Informática – FCI). One of these research topics will be presented with more detail: the IntegraEPI project and its participation in EELA-2 international Grid. Basically, IntegraEPI is a virtual laboratory expected to provide better epidemic forecasting and to define better strategies to fight the spread of a disease. Population-level interventions could be evaluated and iteratively refined using computational simulations in a Grid environment.
