NOVA LINCS PhD student, Ricardo Veiga, selected for the Future Talent Programme’s Lightning Talk Challenge

Ricardo Veiga, PhD student supervised by NOVA LINCS researcher João Rodrigues at the University of the Algarve, has been selected for The Future Talent Programme’s Lightning Talk Challenge (FTP24), promoted by the GÉANT Network, that interconnects Europe’s national research and education networks.

The GÉANT Future Talent Programme’s Lightning Talk Challenge offers students and young professionals the opportunity to present their project or idea to GÉANT’s annual TNC’s international audience. Participation in the challenge involves a training phase, during which students from all over the world receive specialized support in preparing a presentation on their research work. From the 17 participants only nine were invited to attend TNC 2024 to deliver a Lightning Talk.

Ricardo Veiga will present his research work dedicated to creating a way of monitoring the ocean floor using automation and cloud computing technologies, with the talk Streamlining the unknown. A dance of cloud and edge in marine monitoring, at the TNC 2024 conference, which will be held in Rennes, France, from June 10 to 14.
