Pedro Medeiros
Pedro Medeiros holds a PhD in Informatics from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1998). Previously he obtained 5-year degrees in Electronics Engineering (1979) and Computer Science and Engineering (1982). He is Associate Professor at Informatics Department of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he teaches courses in Operating Systems and Parallel Processing; his research is performed at NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS) of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Lisboa, where he is a full member of the Computer Systems group. His research interests are in the design of environments that ease the development of applications in science and engineering that take advantage of parallel processing, with an emphasis in hardware configurations based on desktop computers equipped with accelerators, namely GPUs.
