Ana Moreira
Ana Moreira is an invited Full Professor at FCT NOVA, and a member of the NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS), where she leads the Automated Software Engineering (ASE) team within the Software Systems group. The ASE team focus on reducing accidental complexity in software design and construction, while supporting change, managing complexity, and enabling fast deployment. Ana’s research explores how core principles of software engineering, such as abstraction (via model-driven development), modularity (through aspect-orientation), and reuse (via variability modeling), can be leveraged to address those challenges. She applies and extends these principles in the areas of requirements engineering, modeling, architecture design, software quality, and sustainability in software engineering. She publishes regularly in leading international venues and received some Best Paper Awards, as well as two Most Influential Paper Awards, one Modularisation and Composition (@Modularity 2013) and another on Model-Driven Traceability for Software Product Lines (SoSyM @ MODELS 2020). Ana is a Council member of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and has served on the editorial boards of journals such as IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE), Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM), Requirements Engineering, and Transactions on AOSD. She has served on the steering committees of major international conferences including RE, REFSQ, MODELS, and AOSD/Modularity. Ana Moreira has contributed extensively to the international research community, serving as organiser, Program Committee (PC) member, or PC Chair for numerous conferences and workshops. Notably, she has served as PC co-Chair for several events, including ECSA 2026, REFSQ 2024, RE 2021, ICT4S 2020, and MODELS 2013.
