Ludwig Krippahl
Ludwig Krippahl is assistant professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon since December 2005, having always studied at this institution. He graduated in Applied Chemistry in 1997, obtained his MsC in Artificial Intelligence in 2000, and his PhD in Structural Biochemistry in 2003, in a collaboration between the Chemistry Department and the Computer Science Department of this faculty. His main research interests are in bioinformatics, especially in the application of constraint programming techniques to protein structural studies and numerical computation and machine learning approaches to determining physical and chemical properties of large molecules. Related interests include computer graphics, interface design, and applications of semantic web concepts to bioinformatics. He is the author of Chemera, a software package for molecular modelling and protein-protein docking.
