José Cardoso e Cunha

Currently he is associate researcher at NOVA LINCS. His research focus is on high-performance and scalable parallel and distributed computing, with dynamic, distributed and data-intensive applications, such as large-scale text mining. He was researcher of CITI-FCT/UNL - Center for Informatics and Information Technologies, FCT/UNL that he coordinated from 2001 to 2007. Full Professor of Computer Systems and Architecture, he retired June 2013 ("Professor Catedrático de Arquitectura de Sistemas Computacionais"). He got a degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications and Electronics), Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, 1975, and a degree in Informatics Engineering / Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 1979. He got a PhD degree in Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 1989, and an Habilitation ("Agregação") degree in Computer Science (Concurrent, Distributed and Parallel Computational Systems and Architectures), Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. 2001.
