Paulo Afonso Lopes
Paulo Afonso Lopes is an Assisting Professor at DI of FCT UNL, and a member of the NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics Computer Systems group. His research, previously focused on distributed shared storage has now evolved to virtualisation, cloud, networking platforms and services. He has published several papers on distributed shared storage and has been awarded, together with fellow colleagues, two IBM SUR grants. He has a background of previous experience of 15 years in the computer industry, and still maintains close ties with several companies; as a result of that cooperation he is currently leading a project on virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) that was recently awarded a P2020 grant.
